Local Law Enforcement
Roughly fifty cars have been smeared with what seems to be human bodily fluid in the German town of Hanau close to Frankfurt, as reported by authorities.
Vehicles, building surfaces and mailboxes were marked, in some cases with swastikas, they stated in a release.
Officers state they were contacted in the late hours on Wednesday, when a resident observed that a automobile in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been smeared with a reddish-hued substance.
The liquid had been applied in the form of a Nazi symbol, they stated.
Law enforcement then located numerous other vandalized automobiles and house walls in the nearby vicinity.
Nazi symbols are prohibited in Germany under laws prohibiting the visible presentation of symbols from the Nazi era.
Law enforcement report early analysis indicate the substance was likely blood from a person.
"There is still no clue as to its source; investigators are currently not aware of any harm in association with the event," they added.
City officials stated they were working "to resolve the mystery" and have requested to the community for information.
An important political figure stated the incident made him without words and had to be addressed promptly.
"This event affects the very heart of Hanau and reawakens the pain of the far-right terrorist attack in 2020," he wrote on social media, mentioning the death of nine victims by a assailant focusing on people of migrant background in 2020.
