I will overwhelm 'serious boxer' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua
The British boxer prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight round fight which will be streamed live on the streaming platform.
Briton Anthony Joshua stated he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "defeat" the American as the pair confronted each other to build hype for the upcoming boxing match.
Former two time unified title holder Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a huge disparity - at Miami's arena on December 19th.
Fighter's Mentality
"I will damage his features and damage his physique. I aim to demonstrate my superiority," the British boxer, 35, stated.
"I will dominate him completely. That's a fighter's mentality.
"I will really want to hurt him. That's my intention."
Civil Interaction
Despite such comments, a relaxed Joshua and internet personality Paul - normally recognized for his theatrics - shared friendly words and kept it respectful with each other.
Paul instead criticized ex Joshua rival Francis Ngannou and described him as "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian turned down a match opportunity.
Taking Aim at Tyson Fury
Anthony Joshua, at the same time, criticized UK opponent Tyson Fury - and refused a ÂŁ1m bet 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a victory for Paul.
"[Paul] is superior to Fury - he showed up," the boxer said.
"I give him credit for that."
Legitimate Opponent
Despite stating he plans to punish Paul, Joshua declined to talk badly about his opponent's fighting skills.
"Jake is a credible opponent," he stated.
Paul's History
Paul - who initially became famous on the television network - has mostly fought MMA fighters or declining opponents since becoming pro.
He lost to Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.
Commercial Success
Nevertheless, the inexperienced fighter is still one of the sport's biggest financial successes, consistently making substantial paydays.
Forecast and Belief
The 28 year old anticipated a KO victory in the fourth or fifth round and asserted he would prevent the highly-expected Joshua–Fury fight, which is allegedly under discussion for 2026.
"It's going to be me versus Tyson Fury next year," Paul declared.
Size Difference
As both boxers met for the customary face-off, with their size difference clearly visible, it emphasized just how improbable this entire matchup is - and how remarkable it is that the match is actually proceeding.
